Stylistically, the concept was shaped in close alignment with the clients’ wishes, resulting in a blended interior aesthetic rooted in mid-20th century design, enriched with a subtle, intellectual “French nuance.” The furniture selection includes pieces and artworks of historical significance and personal meaning. By focusing on timeless classics of avant-garde furniture, we avoided creating a trendy, overly “designed” interior, instead cultivating a space that feels authentic and lived-in.

The foundation of the interior is built on clean, crisp white walls, a high baseboard, and herringbone parquet flooring – the only overt nod to French design. Instead of grand chandeliers, the ceilings are fitted with discreet, refined light fixtures, contributing to the understated elegance of the space.

Color serves as the unifying element throughout. The combination of green with warm wood tones creates a harmonious, slightly vintage atmosphere. A grey-green rug in the living room echoes the upholstered bed headboard in the bedroom, establishing a quiet visual dialogue between rooms. A deeper, darker shade of green was used for the tall USM Haller credenza, adding weight and sophistication to the composition.

The centerpiece of the living room – the De Sede DS-600 sofa – became the defining moment of the project. Its inclusion was not a fashionable gesture, but a precise functional and aesthetic decision. No conventional sofa could accommodate the room’s complex geometry. Instead, we chose a sculptural, boundary-pushing piece that proved ideal in every way. The entire living room composition was subsequently built around this iconic sofa, which became the emotional and visual heart of the space

Through careful curation of furniture, accessories, and decor, we created an interior that doesn’t feel new. Its value lies in authenticity and resilience over time. It forms a solid foundation upon which layers of memory can accumulate – new books, serendipitous finds, evolving art collections. This interior does not age; it matures, growing richer with time while preserving a deep sense of comfort, character, and impeccable stylistic coherence.
